Turning restrictions on westbound Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City start Monday

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Motorists traveling along Missouri Boulevard in Jefferson City should expect permanent traffic changes starting next week as part of the improvements at the intersection with South Ten Mile Drive.

Beginning the morning of Monday, Oct. 5, weather permitting, contractors working with the Missouri Department of Transportation plan to begin installing concrete medians along Missouri Boulevard between Missouri Route 179 and just west of South Ten Mile Drive. This will remove direct access from westbound Missouri Boulevard to several businesses, including Capital City CDJR, McDonald’s, and Texas Roadhouse. Westbound motorists will use South Ten Mile Drive to access those businesses. Eastbound Missouri Boulevard will maintain direct access.

All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.

As part of their January 2026 meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $1,552,567.30 contract for this work to Sam Gaines Construction, Inc.

MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
